NA2050 participants accomplish their objectives through working groups that focus on different aspects of the energy, climate, and economic challenges facing their jurisdictions. Each jurisdiction participates only in those working groups that align with its own priorities. Each of the states and provinces participating in NA2050 is free to collaborate in any of the working groups that it supports. Participation in NA2050 does not imply engagement in every working group.
Each working group has at least one chair from a participating state or province. Staff support and expert assistance is provided by advisors and consultants selected by the participating states or provinces as resources allow. Working groups may also invite participation by outside experts from the private sector, NGOs and academic/research institutions. As resources allow, working groups may identify special studies to be conducted by consultants or contractors.
